In December 2019, the Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the National University of Singapore signed a "3+1+1" joint training agreement to jointly cultivate innovative talents in the field of civil and hydraulic engineering.
The project would select 5 undergraduates in the field of civil and hydraulic engineering every year. Under the framework of our agreement, undergraduate students who have completed the first three years in FIE would enter the National University of Singapore to complete the fourth year of undergraduate courses (course study and/or graduation design). If these students can meet the entry requirements for the relevant master's degree program of the National University of Singapore and get approval by the Admissions Committee, they can continue to study for a master's degree at the National University of Singapore. Students who participate in this project can obtain a bachelor's degree from Dalian University of Technology and a master's degree from National University of Singapore if they complete the curriculum plan as required and meet the requirements for degrees awarded by both schools. After the project starts, the first batch of students will be sent to the National University of Singapore for further study in 2020.
In March 2020, the Faculty select from five junior students who enrolled in this project . Affected by the epidemic in the special period, this round of selection was conducted by video interview. After the qualification review and interview, four students finally passed the primary selection of the Faculty. They will soon enter the interview and score evaluation of the National University of Singapore expert group.
In recent years, the Faculty and the National University of Singapore have a good cooperation foundation in the academic field. The two sides will treat this joint training project as a new starting point to further promote substantive strategic cooperation such as talent training and scientific research innovation and work together to create world-class disciplines and first-class the University.
